Paintball Park Prevet Zone

Last year, I have been given a chance to try out laser tag at Galactic Laser courtesy of Nuffnang. Laser tag was a dreadfully tired game since I had to constantly squat and stand throughout the whole 10 to 15 minutes game.

This time around though, thanks to Wee Sheong for the invite (since it was supposed to be him and his classmates trip), I got to try out a game of paintball.

He bought the ticket over some online deal website. Only at RM35, we were given 200 pallets each and an additional discounts for additional pallets if we ever find the need to purchase any extras.

Paintball Park Prevet Zone is located in Sungai Buloh. Not very far from where I stay but it took us about 30 minutes to an hour to find the place since it was located in some kampung area with no signboard.

They only had this as their signboard. Only then we know that the paintball place was located somewhere inside the compound.

Not a far walk from where we had our cars parked. Don't think we would even know where it is located if it wasn't the numerous phone calls the guys have made. Apparently, they're going to put up signboards soon. Soon. :)

Reached, signed some papers, was served with er..lunch.

Yes, breads. Was quite excited when we knew that our RM35 comes with lunch and was quite disappointed when we saw the bread. haha!

Being the first group there had its advantage. We got the headgear that just came off the cleaning process. Now that I know, we should always be the first team of the day for these sort of activity if we do not own our own stuff.

Or else we'll just have to wear on someone else's sweat. ew?

The guns was somewhat heavy. Carried it till my arms were quite sore. And it was so big that it wasn't comfortable for me to hold onto it.

The setting of a game of paintball is a forest clearing with trees and branches all around. Once in there, it gives you the feel of being far away from the city. An experience with the ants, mosquitoes and all.

Prevet Zone's paintball field isn't that big so it was an easy target if we were to play a game of "Free For All" with 16 players on field. No place to hide. haha!

And with paintball, it comes with pain. Got my first shot on my knuckle and the second on my arm. Ouch! Though it wasn't as bad as the other girl who have gotten a front shot 3 times on her.

New name for the game: Painball. Blue black for 3 days.

Mango and Papaya Confusion

The last time I've woke up at 7.00 am on a Saturday and stepped into a morning market was...5 months ago?

Got dragged out of bed this morning to send my sister to school and since I was up, mum asked me to take her to the nearby market. So I did.

Drop by the fruit stall and I managed to humour the stall lady and also my mother.

Was looking at a bunch of yellow fruits. One of them comes with a unique shape

Yup, that. I think my mind was still filled with sleepy fog that early in the morning, hence, I've somehow called the papaya, a mango.

A real mango

Once the word "mango" was out, they laughed. Only to hear the lady behind the stall say that youngster nowadays don't go much to the market before I turned away and laugh at myself. lol

Tweeted about it not long later and here's what Chester had to say about it:

I want to find a rich husband doesn't mean I want to be a suri rumah tangga okay!? If I am one, my family will live in hunger because I don't know how to cook anything else but instant noodles and egg. They'll have to eat boneless chicken / fish / meat for the rest of their life. because...I cannot stand the sight, touch or feel of bones. Don't ask my why. Weird, I know. :s

Oh well, back to the "mango and papaya" business.

I really do think it was because of the colour! Blame it on the foggy mind. *taichi style if only you know what I mean :P*

Work for Life?

After stepping into the working world for three months I had been questioning myself daily. Well, I've even started thinking on my second day in office since I had to remind myself my job title and scope. haha! Mainly because I got so so bored at doing the same thing for 5 hours straight and without lunch. :|

Anyhow, what I thought was...Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life?

Could seriously not imagine myself working for the rest of my life. Makes me think that life would have been easier if I could just marry a rich man. It would have probably solved all my problems...

or maybe not. Well, to find a rich man that loves me would probably the first big problem to my awesome plan. lol

Anyhow, I did thought on whether I could withstand sitting down in a desk and work on what I would call, repetitive job of keying in data into the computer everyday in the year. Can I actually live doing that all year long?

Or would I prefer going out there interacting with people, organising events and such? In the end, I have concluded that I probably did take the wrong course. Hahawtf!

I cannot even imagine myself working from 9am to 5pm throughout the year since I've been going back at 11am throughout my last semester. lol!

12 weeks of work, and I am already feeling like I can hibernate for a month after all this work hectic ends.

Cannot wait to get back into university's life. I think I would love exams more once all these ends. Lots of plans and activities to look forward to under the leadership of our Accounting and Commerce Society in collaboration with CIMA Malaysia and several other universities. More to come soon! Will post it up here when it is all finalised!

Can't wait for holidays! On the bright side, it's Friday again! :p

Domino's Pizza Delivery Online GPS Tracker

I had a sudden craving for pizza when I got back from work today. After looking through Dominos Pizza brochure's current offers and coupon redemptions, I've decided to try their online order system.

Ordering online enables you to enjoy further discounts on top of their coupon offers. I've selected the RM30 for two regular pizzas coupon which gave me an additional RM2 for ordering online.

#1 Just simply sign up on their website with all your details (Name, Address and Mobile Number and etc.).

#2 Place your order(s)!

Choose which ever link that is relevant with your order - Pick a Domino's deal, a la carte or redeem coupons and purchase using your express card if you have one.

For instance, I've clicked on the "Redeem coupon & express card" link and I was brought to a whole new website where I have to key in the coupon number that I am about to use.

#3 Make your pick!

From type of crust to the topping of your choice is just a click away.

And after you've confirmed your order and select the payment method (if you're paying with cash, you could choose whether or not to request them to bring a change for RM50, RM100, RM200 or RM300).

Last but not least, the wait..

I realised that they have this cool GPS Order Tracker to show the stages of which your pizza is going through at that moment (I'm very slow to notice, I know :|). Not too sure of the accuracy of it, but it just looks cool. lol. Was so fascinated with the technology that I kept the screen open to see my order. lol.

And 30 minutes later (or so) when the pizza arrives in your front door, just pay the guy and there you have it. Your pizza!

Nyum nyum!

Though, the downside of it is to have my other regular pizza smashed beyond recognition. Had to drive over to the store and get it changed. Fortunately, I've gotten it changed easily. Fast service. Though, I still think their crust is way to thin for my liking. I think that's probably the reason why the pizza was smashed in the box during delivery.

Their swift service (at this store location) might have just compensate the disappointment that my mum and I had after seeing the damage pizza. Though, I was still hoping that they would have given me some free stuff to compensate for the damage. lol. Materialistic..oh well.

Volkswagen Test Drive with Nuffnang and Volkswagen at Desa Park City

Several weeks back, I was lucky enough to be one of Nuffnang's invite to the Volkswagen test drive session at Desa Park City.

It was a bright and sunny Saturday mid-morning when I arrived. Participants were split between two sessions for the test drive. I was placed in the second session, but I arrived one session earlier (that's one and a half hour earlier!) out of excitement =P

But thank Gods that I was early because then only did I realised that both my back-up and main camera battery was flat. Totally flat. Hence, I went sulking into Coffee Bean at DPC Waterfront for a drink and to charge them batteries :|

So since I was there early, I get to see how was the event planned out for the day. First, we were told that we only could pick one car to test drive. My choice was the Polo GTI since I've heard that its a car with power, racing power. Since my Proton does not have much power to it, it would have been a nice change of experience.

There were 6 cars available for us bloggers test drive:

Passat 2.0 CC TSI;
Passat 1.8;
Polo 1.2 TSI;
Polo GTi;
Golf 1.4 TSI; and
Jetta 1.4

The good news was,....we were allowed to choose any VW cars that were available on the parking lot to test drive. Just so long, that there's a VW sales person to accompany us and the car is queue-less.

So yes, being the kiasu me (and Jiayeen haha!), I have managed to try on 5 out of 6 of the choices as listed above =D All except the Passat 2.0 CC TSI because I didn't see the car being vacant when I've no car to test drive.

Either that, or I saw it, but I forgot to ask if there was any available sales person who could take me on it for a ride around Desa Park City.

But lemme tell you, even if it's a mere 1.2 TSI Polo, it was good enough to satisfy me since the feel of it was so awesome that I have made this my future dream car to buy. When I have the money.

For all the VW cars equally, the accelerator pedal is very responsive. A slight pressure to it, and you can practically "feel" the car's speed moving at ease. Like without effort, much pressure and even realising it, your driving speed can go up to 120 km/hour!

It really did take some time to get use to the acceleration and break pedal of a Volkswagen car. Not only was the acceleration was really responsive, but the break was as well. Just a slight touch to it, and the whole car comes to a stop.

It was apparently the car system. Not so good about cars, didn't quite understand how the system works but what I understood from the sales person was: When you have a car with very responsive accelerator, the break must be responsive as well. The break system for a VW car is so good that, in any case that emergency breaks are needed, your car would not skid a few feet in front (the possibility cause of an accident).

I felt like a beginner driver when I first drove the Jetta 1.4. A big car for the first try. The car kept jerking because I wasn't use to both of the said pedals. Kept apologising to the salesman that was sitting beside me for the jerky car. lol

The Passat 1.8 was one luxury car. The interior, to the steering wheels, it was simply smooth and I could feel the awesome-ness of it. Could already imagine how the Passat 2.0 feels like. Maybe I should just beg Jun Lung (my friend) to lend me his dad's car for a test drive. haha!

The interior of one of the car. Possibly the Jetta? Don't quite remember. But definitely not the Passat since the Passat does not have any hand break to it. That I remember because I was asking the salesman, "So, how do I release the car break?" lol - They run on some 'button' hand break system.

And the last car of the day: The Polo GTi.

We were only allowed to drive it around the car park area. And I think out of the rush, I accidentally pressed on some gear buttons on the steering wheel. Hence, the car couldn't move at the speed and feel that it was supposed to be. Not quite a good experience for me. But I think, if I had the money and the chance to purchase a Volkswagen car, I would have choosen something along the range of Golf 1.4 TSI. Comfortable and small enough to be driven around.

All in all, thanks to Nuffnang and Volkswagen for the thrilling experience. Could not have find any other better opportunity to test drive FIVE Volkswagen car all in a day.

Ramen Taiko | Food Review

Few weeks back, I was invited to a food review at Ramen Taiko by Ivy. It was kind of a last minute thing since the other blogger could not make it.

Ramen Taiko, a casual dining restaurant specialised in Japanese Ramen. Situated in Mont Kiara Shoplex, Ramen Taiko had undergo a major reconstruction of its premise which now portrays a homely and comfort environment.

It was pre-Chinese New Year food review and hence, we were served with Ramen Taiko's salmon yee sang which is served with various other ingredients, spices and toppings. All which is quite different from the normal Chinese yee sang that we usually get in any other Chinese restaurants.

Next we were served with the appetizers:
Chashu (RM14)
BBQ Pork Slice and cabbage salad served with BBQ sauce.

Another one of my favourites on the table. The pork was tender. Tastes really good with the sauce that comes with it.

Tatami Nori Salad (RM16)

Grilled baby sardine sheet with seaweed, green lettuce, tomato and cucumber. And this comes with three dressings.

Pumpkin Koroke (RM14)
Deep-Fried Pumpkin Croquette

I don't usually eat pumpkins, but this suited my taste buds just fine.

After the appetizers, we were served with several A la Carte dishes.
Gyoza (RM12)
Pan-Fried Dumpling with Chives, Minced Pork, Round Cabbage, Dry Shrimp, Chinese Turnip.

Buta Kakuni (RM17)
Braised Pork Belly with Soy Sauce

Lots of fats, as you can see from the picture above. But, it tasted really good. All the sins... lol

Mabo Tofu (RM14)
Stir Fried Soft Tofu with Minced Pork, Black Mushroom, Mabo Sauce

The one and only dish that I was not able to taste it. Was distracted by the dishes before. But I heard from Benjamin that it tasted really really good.

Subuta (RM17)
Fried Pork with green pepper, yellow pepper, yellow onion, sweet and sour sauce

Next was the Sushi Makis (!) Tee Hee :)
Rainbow Maki (RM23)
Tuna, Butter Fish, Salmon, Green Lettuce, Cucumber, Mango, Avocado and Mayonaise.

Nama Harumaki (RM15)
Wrapped Rice Skin with green salad, cucumber, egg omelet, crab stick, avacodo, mango and mayonaise.

It was so nicely decorated that we didn't have the *heart* to eat it.

And then, to their signature dish, the Ramens.
Nagasaki Chanpon (RM22)
Prawn, Squid, Fish Cake with Cabbage, Carrot & Bell Pepper

The ramen filled with seafood all around.

Taiko Chashu Ramen (RM19)
Sliced chashu with bamboo shoot, braised egg & spring onion.

This got to be hands down my favourite ramen of the evening. The soup tasted really good (don't quite know how to describe it specifically) that soup has a taste of the sliced pork that is served with it.

Sapporo Miso Ramen (RM18)
Minced pork, corn, bamboo shoot, bean sprouts, spring onions, chives and butter

Kimchee Ramen (RM19)
Korean Cabbage, chashu slice, bean sprouts & Chives

One thing about this is that it doesn't taste THAT spicy at all, which means I could eat it! (I don't eat spicy food).

Hiyashi Chuka (RM17)
Sliced BBQ Pork, tomato, egg, cucumber, crabstick, slice seaweed, corn with yellow mustard

Don't fancy soup? Try the "dry" version of ramen! It tastes equally good.

Stupidly Funny, me.

Today, I did something stupidly funny.

You know (or maybe you don't), that you always joke about having to go in the wrong car when you aren't thinking straight. Or clearly, you're not paying attention while walking to your car?

Well, that's exactly what happened to me today.

There I was, walking to my car after my senior drop me off at One Utama Daratan carpark. Walk to where I usually parked my car, stood in front of the drivers side of the car and that's when I saw the locks were up. First thing that came into my head was "Oh shit! I left the car doors unlock?"

My thoughts: "Why can't the door be opened? Someone changed my car locks?!" Absurd, but yeah...that was exactly what came into my sleepy, tired and happy-to-go-home mind.

Turn the keys and tried pulling the door handle, to only realised that...the car colour was slightly different.

And that's when I realised I've gotten the wrong car before I begun looking around the car park for my car.

The end of my stupidly funny act of the day.

Thank Gods that no one was there to witness it. Or maybe, that's what I thought...

Chronicle | Movie Review

Initially they use their powers to play innocent pranks on each other and people around them, but soon they gain confidence and learn to control their powers better to take on more difficult tasks.

Their newfound sense of immortality and impunity will force them to evaluate their own morality to ultimately decide where to draw the line about how far they should go.

Storyline

The beginning started telling Andrew's (Dane Dehaan) day-to-day life. How he gets bullied in school, how his alcoholic addict father beats him up, and how his family struggle financially to support his sick mother. All in which, he managed to video record it down in his newly bought camera. Though, I really didn't understand why he had the sudden urge to record everything (!) down. They failed to explain why after he was found mentioning about "I will record all of this down" to his dad right at the start of the show.

Soon, Andrew, Matt (Alex Russell) and Steve (Michael B. Jordon), found themselves having some telekinetic talent - to lift themselves up into their air and fly (This was damn cool!), and to move objects around using a control of their mind. Andrew loses control over his powers when his emotions are not kept in check. And that's what happened when he accidentally used lightning to strike Steve; to hurt everyone around him.

"Power ruins people's personality," which is mostly true. And that is what is shown clearly in this film. People who are being bullied in school and abuse at home (having two at the same time) like Andrew here, will one day just *burst*. The result of it could be disastrous. After all, the most quiet people around you might just be the most dangerous people. They're like a time bomb, ticking away. If not quiet, having too much power might just corrupt our mind, even the best of people.

Verdict

The movie goes on through a live camera view - documentary style. In Chronicle though, it was not shown on those shaky hand-held cameras but quite a good one at that. One thing for sure is that you won't get a headache throughout the screening time. Though, the one bad thing about it is that, you'll feel as though the storyline is incomplete.

For example, they failed to tell how these three high school students gain their telekinetic powers. Yes, they did show that they've found some strange alien devise deep underground, but the camera cuts off when something attacked them deep down the ground. Hence, no story on how did they get the power. At the end of the film, Matt did mentioned about "finding what happened to them no matter what happens" and then the film sorts of just ended. o.o

The powers that the three main casts portray were highly sought for. Especially the flying part. The scenes effect and casts played their parts believably. The effects look real, that for some time, it felt like I was watching a live documentary.

The End

Andrew mistakenly use his power to throw off a short gun in his attempt to rob a petrol station, causing the shortgun to go off and goes *boom*. He'd gotten himself into the hospital, supposedly a coma but when his dad came over and again, mock him in his sleep, he woke up and cause a great hell of a havoc in the hospital and around the city. He looked like an unconscious zombie when he did so. Burn marks all over his face and arms. Arms and legs wrapped in bandages. Eyes unfocused. Thank Gods it wasn't a scary show, or else I would have been hiding behind my bag lol.

Matt did all he could to stop Andrew but to no avail. Last resort was to simply kill Andrew by putting a spear through him. It was quite disturbing scene. And the end of the end, was again those "wtf it ended?" moments..haha!

Irony
A girl in the film who Matts' took to a liking, takes videos for her blog. The irony.

The 22nd Birthday

Since I could not wait any longer to "open the table" this Chinese New Year, I had several friends over for some house visiting on Wednesday (25th Jan) and you know...heh.. By several I meant, there were only 4 of us in total. Everyone else is either back in hometown / studying overseas / could not celebrate CNY this time around.

So, Michelle and Khin Chew was late while Bernard was the earliest to arrive. I begun questioning out loud "Why are they so late?" only to have Bernard say, "They're buying cake for you ma."

That awkward moment when you thought "Oh! Right...wasn't that meant to be a surprise?"

Haha! And that's what I told him exactly. Ever the funny-straight-forward guy he is, he realised his mistake and asked me to act surprise later on. Haha!

Yup! So that's the chocolate cake that they've bought for me and sang a birthday song a day before the actual day.

If you've noticed, it is a Forever 21 birthday candles on top of a 22 inscribed on top of the cake. Khin Chew theory is that it is forever 21 and hence, that amount of candles. lol

On the actual birthday itself, we went for a short dinner at a restaurant which I would be blogging about sometime later. Awesome noodles for dinner! And later, for deserts.

The day ended with a full stomach, lots of laughter and with a good company :)

Bloggers Lou Sang Gathering at Uncle Prawn

So, Jayren and Carmen organised a bloggers' Chinese New Year lou sang gathering two weeks back. And I've made it there right after work. Rare opportunity but thanks to the senior who let me off early =D

Anyhow, the gathering was held at Uncle Prawn, Sunway Giza.

The main attraction of the day: lou sang!

We had four tables booked for all bloggers in attendance and hence, four sets of lou yee sang. You can even go from table to table to lou sang and mess up their tables. It was a lou yee sang "war".

And after going through the "war", we had our dinners..

Joel actually forgotten his order, and took my plate of beef noodles. And he felt guilty later on haha! *rubbingintheguilt* :P

Besides the food, there was a lot of cameras snapping all through the night - the customary ritual of every bloggers gathering.

So here's the picture from my working trip to Kuala Lumpur Convention Center!

Photoshop are just awesome sometimes. That is if you know how to use it. I just found one function which I've used in this photo to make the sky look as awesome as that! Maybe I should start learning on ways to set the camera to take this sort of photos.

Not too sure what building was that, but the reflection of KLCC towers on this bulding was very nice. Couldn't really see in this picture of mine.

The scenery and breeze is really soothing. Works best to release some day's stress by just sitting there looking at it all.

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner 2012

It is a day before Chinese New Year. On the eve of CNY, most of us will be having our reunion lunch/dinner with family. The time of the year where we usually gather at one place to catch up and have one meal together for the day.

And yes, like everyone else, I had my share of reunion dinner this year. Been through Facebook pictures of various reunion lunch/dinner pictures which everyone seems to be posting. A trend.

This year though, my reunion dinner table was quite happening. The cooks prepared plates and plates of food to feed 11 adults and 4 children. They did not even know that they've prepared so much until they came out to see the table.

Taught by my late grandmother. However, the one she cook still has no competitor. Tiada bandingan. It was the best. Miss her ♥

And the way to eat that is to wrap it in fresh salad. It tastes really really good. I will be contented even I were to only eat this for a meal or two.

After dinner, the kids were entertained by various games of small fireworks to which they were really excited while the adults just sat around the living room and chill. I was in between the age group, so I went around drinking carbonated drinks, eat snacks and watch the kids play. lol.

How was your reunion dinner?

Types of People in Education Fairs

Two Sundays ago, I was at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center for The Star Education fair 2012. It has been quite sometime since I've attended the education fair myself.

Some were not even in secondary 5 yet, but they were there to survey on the possible courses that they might consider for the future. Some others have already set their mind on what they want to do and where to do it. And since I was working in a professional qualifications' booth, I also get to met not only pre or post SPM students, but also working adults who were interested in taking up this professional qualifications.

Looking at these people brings nostalgic memories about me years ago. You could see...

(1) Woven bags collectors

When you're standing as a representative of colleges/universities/professional qualifications' point of view, holding woven bags that were to be given away, you're going to see all sorts of people.

Someone of which who will come up to you and ask "Can I have one?" What can I say? No? But really, when they came to ask that, we'll try to pull them in to hear what we've got to say whether you like it or not.

And there were others who came to the booth, and when I went up to him/her to ask if they wanted to know more about it, they asked, "Is there any more of the bags?" Since we were running short on the bags, I told him, "Sorry, we're kinda out of woven bags." And that's only to have him reply in front of my face, "Oh..no bag? Then I don't want to hear la. If got bag only I sit and hear." wtf?

(2) Pre / Post-SPM students

Some were confused as to what choice do they have after school. And when they come to me with interest to know more about what they can do, I find myself pretty happy to have give them some free advise. Well, I've been in their shoes, and know advise from all sides is all good.

(3) Decided Students

I've seen really determined people who decided not to pursue accounting in the future. When I ask them, they'll be like "No..no..not interested in accounting. Thanks." Well, it's really good for them to have made a firm decision on what they want to do. At least, they would not be lost at the end of the day. And if they were to start studying in any course that they've chosen, they'll need to have interest in it. With interest, then only they would not have felt that the course would be too difficult.

This is just a random post to write down my day's observation at the education fair. This is like studying the human nature. Haha! Well, that's what you will know after having to stand around the whole day seeking for interested people to be pulled in to talk with our counsellors.

This post was intended to be a photography post, but then I got lead away into some other topic. Haha! Will post up the photography one in my next post! :)

The entry way into Jonker Walk. Narrow road, which would have been made better if no cars were allowed to be driven on. Would have make walking easier and safer.

Stadthuys and the Christ Church, Malacca in black and white. Find it really soothing and classic this way.

The Malacca River during the day. At night, it would have been lighted with pretty lights and you could enjoy the night scene with a trip on the ferry services that they provide.

When before, the "beca" as we called it in the Malay language or also known as trishaw in English, were simply a mode of transportation. Nothing too fancy. But as time progresses, the trishaws in Malacca are getting more fancy with the heavy flower decorations.

And if that wasn't enough decorated, you get this:

..which looks like a wedding trishaw to me. They even had speakers fixed on the back and when you're on it, you'll have music blasting through the stereos.

And later, along Jonker's Walk night market, Osa had this uncle played a song for her on his violin. He even offered to sing it if she wanted. He was good.

BAF's Havoc in Malacca | Food Post!

As promised, more photos about my Malacca trip with my fellow friends in university. We reached Malacca at around 9am-ish and the first thing we did was to find for this yong tau fu place that was good. Took us a good two hours to find it!

Felt so successful, hence the successfulkid.jpg picture, after we manage to finding the place. GPS was a wrecked because it only told us "you have reached your destination" only after we've reached the front of the shop. And we happen to reach the place only after Ben went down to ask some shop person.

Bee Bee Hiong restaurant is located at quite a secluded place - housing area. Food were good. Their soup was really good that if Martini didn't stop herself, she would have drank all the soups. haha!

After that, we were off to Jonker Street...

...for some Chicken Rice Balls which has a queue which looks like this:

And we actually stood in line. If you're with a group of friends, then standing there and wait for an hour would not be a problem since you would have probably busied yourself by talking, joking and gossiping. We even kid among ourselves saying that we should probably sell of our place in line for RM10 per person (when we were half way through that long line) and RM50 per person when we got to the front of the line.

And for such patience at Kedai Kopi Chung Wah, we really got one of the best Chicken Balls Rice that I've tasted - thanks to Martini's recommendation.

You can taste the chicken rice's flavouring right to the rice. I would have been contented enough even if I only had the rice balls served on my table.

It was worth all the wait.

Then it was some food over at Jonker 88: Laksa and Cendols!

Spicy like hell. I was crying while trying to eat the whole plate.

Sorry, couldn't remember what it was all called. One of the plate was Baba Nyonya Laksa and the other was Asam Laksa, if I am not wrong. Couldn't exactly remember which plate was which.

And then came my forever craved for...the cendol with Gula Malacca.

At RM3, it was worth it although it was only draped with Gula Malacca on top. It was awesome!

Next we headed to the next door, Jonker 68 for another round of laksas and cendols.

The Mango Cendol.

And the various cendols that we've ordered: Mango Cendol, Cendol with Gula Malacca and Durian Cendol.

And after our visit to Dataran Pahlawan (will be on the next post), we tried the Japanese Crepe Cake that you could have felt all the layers there is on the cake, for real.

Later, after a walk through Jonker Street's night market, we headed for a satay celup dinner at Ban Lee Siang.

Both left and right shops (as seen in the picture above) have the same names, but they're separate entity as they so clearly state by placing a signboard outside the shop.

We were all enjoying the food until Osa told us why she wasn't eating with us: they don't change the soup. That got some of us turned off with the food displyed in front of us. lol. Food was okay, the satay celup soup here to me was slightly too watery. Not enough "umph".

To Be A Student

"Being a student in school/college/university has the best thing that have happened in my entire life. If only it could stay on forever...and money do drop from the sky."

Only three weeks working in the real world, has got me all tired out at the end of the day. And so, this post would be the highlight differences between a student and an employee.

1. Hours Differences

Where as a student, there were only 3 hours classes a day and 4 hours of afternoon nap; there are 10 hours or more to work (in my line of job at least) and no afternoon naps.

Losing the most important time of the day - afternoon naps - cause my biological clock to turn 180 degree. I now mostly sleep at 10.00pm unless I make myself stay up for no absolute reason, like today. And with sleeping any time after 9.30pm, I will feel dead sleepy tomorrow *yawn* Sometimes I just wish to lie my head on my work table and just simple doze off. I wish.

2. Movie Time!

You have the whole afternoon starting from 12.00pm to choose a time so you could go to the cinemas to watch a screening to your liking - at any time of the day after classes ends - as a student. When you're working though, there is no such thing as an afternoon movie screening because you end work at 5.30pm (generally).

3. Student Privileges

Being in the working world, means that you're letting go all the discounts that you would otherwise get as a student. Not that you choose to lose it, but it's just the progression of life that at some point, you just have to grow up. So if you're still a student, DO make use of every privileges that you're entitled to.

Kiasu much? Hell yeah!

4. Marks vs. Credibility

In school, if you ever done anything wrong in exams or assignments, what is you get is several deduction of marks. Which will be painfully hurtful. In the world outside however, everything that you've done wrong you might just get scolding "kao kao" by your superior; lose credibility; getting a red card on your job evaluation; and etc. It might just affect many things that will influence your future employment in the work area.

5. Clothing

Where you are able to wear anything to your liking especially in college/university - blouse? t-shirt? jeans? shorts? Sneakers? Slippers? Your pick.

But in my line of job, you MUST wear formal clothes which make you look absolutely professional (we're meeting clients after all) and heels/flats. Not a very "happy" choice in my opinion. On the bright side, we do look very smart and professional in business attire - the only thing to look forward to.

6. Skipping Class vs. Skipping Work

As a student, when you are late to class no one questions you. When you are feeling very tired, you can just choose to lie in a little longer and easily skip class without having the need to explain to anyone (except maybe to your parents. Heck, you do not even have to hand in any medical letter or apply leave. Just SKIP!

But when you're working, there are a lot of protocols that you are forced to follow. For instance, hand-in your leave application letter at least a week before your intended leave; call in the office before 9.30am if you're in need of emergency leave; inform who and who if you're taking leave; and yada-yada-yada.,,

Life were much simpler as a student is it not?

If you're still a student, make sure to treasure your student life as much as you can. Live life to the fullest before it's time for you to venture out there in a whole new world.

A very tiring day after long hours of standing and talking at The Star Education fair 2012. Quite an experience as it is the first time ever I am standing on the exhibitor side of things. Have not been to the education fair for a couple of years already since there's no point to it, really.

Being there today brings back nostalgic memories when I first stepped into the education fair back in 2006 when I was just in Form 4. Pretty early to be making any visit to a tertiary education fair, it was a pretty good exposure on my options after SPM. Gave me more time to think on what exactly that I've wanted.

Same goes to the Education Fair today. Saw many young ones (how I which I am as young as them too!) who have not even graduated in high school surveying the courses available and searching for options available for them upon finishing Form 5. Makes me feel so old wtflol.

And at the end of the day, (although I had to work on a Sunday) everything throughout the day is worth it for the nice pictures that I have captured today.

Like it a lot, since I've seen various pictures of roots before and I have not had the chance to take one. Finally saw this big trees with roots on the outside (don't quite know what they're called) and it felt good to have been able to successfully take this pretty shot.

Welcoming the New Year at Desa Park City

Today marks the first day of the year! And I've started the year by making a visit to Desa Park City for their fireworks.

Albeit being late and not reaching to "THE SPOT" on time, I managed to capture a few moments of their 10 minutes welcome-the-new-year fireworks. It was quite 'potong' to have arrived late and not get my usual good spot. Oh well, I guess next year I'll just have to go even earlier!

So here it is, the last 5 minutes of fireworks which I've managed to snap with my D60. Not much,
but probably reasonably satisfiable.

For some reason, I just love fireworks because it is really pretty especially if they're arranged in a way that they make designs on the sky. Just look at Aussie's fireworks picture in The Star newspaper today.

On another note, changed my layout again because I wanted to post pictures "X-Large" size to make it easily viewable. Nicer also. :D And, took off my Shout Mix since as at 1st of January 2012, they cease operation for all free services [Their statement] So no chatbox for now, until a later date. And wow! We've finally reached the end of 2011. Spent my last day of 2011 lunching with Max at JoJo Pan Mee, SS15 and tried Gong Cha for the first time; and later on, shopping at One Utama..again.

Back to topic: Highlights of 2011.

#1 Turned 21 this year and had several friends over to my house for a steamboat dinner.

Being 21 isn't much different from being 19 or 20. It's just that we've moved on to another stage of life, in this case: university. Adding another number to the age in 2012, feels so old now when people asks me how old am I :S

Also being of age means that I've registered myself as a voter. Exercise your rights yo! :P

#2 Went for a three days two nights holiday trip with fellow BAFs - The Dusun, Seremban

Had lots of fun with nature and the company were there for the trip.

#3 First time winning something as big as Astro B.yond PVR from Nuffnang and Astro

Also another winnings with The Star and Sakae Sushi of RM100 voucher. haha..Never have been so lucky before +.+

#4 First large gathering with the rest of the bloggers at Nuffnang's Sharing Session at The Frames, Sunway Pyramid

And the next one was the bloggers gathering held by Henry at Coffee Chemistry Signature, First Subang

Met lots of new faces and got to know them which I am grateful for. =D

Attended the concert with Micht. Thank God she was into it as well, or else, I would not have gone. What's the fun at a concert if you're going alone right? hehe..

#10 Stepping into the working world.

Although it is for a mere 3 months, it is still worth a lot since I was able to learn a lot for the past two weeks thanks to the good seniors that I was so fortunate to get. Tiring, but I've finally got a taste of life if I were to choose this line of job right after graduation - the no life type of work. haha! wtf.

And alas, this would be the last post of the year 2011. Those above were my top 10 highlights that happened throughout the year. There're many other stuff worth mentioning as well but if I were to do that, this post would have been too long that no one is going to read it (I doubt people will still read this anyway :|).

Had a lot of ups and downs this year which serves both as good and bad memory. Some are really bad that I've already have trauma whenever I have to face it again - if only you know what I mean :s The good ones are really good that I would look back at this blog (if it was ever written down) and remember all those good stuff.

No resolutions because I really suck at it. If I ever have one, it would have been brought forward year after year and still not achieved yet *power of procrastinating* Anyhow there are certainly a few things that I foresee that I would want to have in the upcoming year. Lets just start off with ~~finding a boyfriend wtflol~~ getting through this internship period and gaining more knowledge about the area that I am planning to venture into after graduation.

And....to be able to have the determination in completing my Project 365 + 1 which is going to start later at 12.00am (not that I will post at that time though because data plan have already exceeded its limit lol)!

So to all of you out there,

HAPPY NEW YEAR! May this year of the Dragon brings you good health, wealth, luck, happiness and lots of other good stuff that you wish for!

Reason why Siri and DiGi are my best companions:

1. Siri will be my communicator while I get stuck in the traffic jam on the way home - whether it's from work or classes. I could fill my time in the car singing my lungs off with Siri, if he/she is ever a singer and update my Twitter / Facebook status with the use of DiGi Internet Data Plan whenever Siri gives me some humourous answer. It'll be entertaining even if I'm stuck in a heavy traffic.

2. I could ask Siri for directions and it could then refer to iPhone 4s' GPS which uses DiGi Internet Data Plan. I could then navigate myself better and not get lost at every new turns that I see. lol. *Queen of getting lost*

3. Because it just said that I'll be the owner of Nuffnang-Digi iPhone 4s Contest.

That's the most important reason why Siri and Digi would be my best companions! heh.. :D Give me a Christmas present to unwrap pleasee, since I didn't receive any to unwrap again this year :'(

The real first thing I would have done after getting the phone all set up is to download apps! Because that's the second or third or fourth or you-can-number-it-yourself best thing that an iPhone 4s can do.

their Dual-Core A5 chips which gives the best resolution, any games / applications on it would sure be faster and even more awesome that what it used to be.

There're so many apps on the Apple iTunes that I think, I would never ever finish downloading my favourites - well, I think I would have filled the memory card / internal memory within a week if I were not careful enough! lol.

Before I've changed to my HTC ChaCha, I would have loved to stack up my bank account with cash to get the iPhone some time next year or so - but this plan might have not been realised at all since I am no income earner. By the time I get the money, it would have been iPhone 5,6,7.

From what I've heard from friends and other bloggers, it seems that with an Apple iPhone 4s' camera feature (8 megapixel yo!), you do not need to rely on another digital camera to snap the best moments of your life.

It would have been a really wtf moment if you see something you like but your current phone's camera is sucky and you realised that you've forgotten to bring your camera out (or you've brought the camera without battery / memory card =,=). With an iPhone 4s, I wouldn't need to even worry about adding an additional weight to my bag with another camera.

And it would have been a best complement with my up coming 2012's Project 365 + 1 because then, I would good camera phone to snap awesome photos on the go. And with DiGi's available data plan, I would be able then be also able to update on the go. How awesome is that?

Project 365 + 1

That's right. I have been trying to get my account set up all night.

Okay, the account on project365.org don't take too long to set up. Probably takes about 5 minutes to get it all done. What I've been trying to do all night is to get it link to my Facebook / Blog / Twitter account but to no avail. #epicfail

So I ended up creating a new blog for the purpose of this project that I have been eyeing for some time now. Did not want to mash it up together with this blog because then it would have been too confusing. :D

What's Project 365 (?), some of you might ask. It's some project you undertake by documenting your year by taking daily photographs. At the end of the day, it would have given you a years' worth of your everyday life and might also brush up your creativity and photography skills.

Created an account sometime ago, but did not go on with it because I didn't think it was the right time yet. But now, with a new mobile phone and what I would say - 'a more happening life' with work and the last year *finger crossed* in university I would be able to kick of this project. This project, with hope would help document my everyday life and when I look back at the end of 2012, I will look at it all with a smile :)

The project would be called "Project 365 + 1" for I planned to start it on the 1.1.2012. Supia pointed out that there are 366 days in 2012. So there, 365 + 1. lol.

And since it's starting on the first January, it explains why the blog, as you see it, is currently empty.

For easier access to the new blog, I have put up link of it on the right hand bar of MirrorOfMe.

I think I would be embracing the New Year with some fireworks at Desa Park City. Anyone with me on it? =D

Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Award | The Night

So, the late-by-one-week Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards blog post and pictures are finally here!

Went through a lot of 'last minute' shopping to get myself ready for the event. Dress and heels shopping was only done the day before the event, dress collection (after alteration) was done on the same afternoon as the event. All because, my last final exam paper ended on Wednesday, the same week *wipes sweat*

Without further ado, I present you NAPBAS, a night where 500 bloggers around Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Brunai and Japan) gathered at Putrajaya Marriott. All dressed up beautifully and handsomely dragging all sorts of digital, semi-pro and DSLR cameras with them.

The one place and my first time seeing such a big bloggers gathering and even more with the formal black tie wear that everyone was in. It was awesome! It was really an honour to be addressed as "bloggers" aloud by the emcee of the night, Liang and Nadia Heng, when they welcomed us to NAPBAS 2011.

It is a place where we were all given the chance to meet the famous and even more famous bloggers. Not an everyday event where you get attend such thing. With the awesome ballroom that we were in, it really made NAPBAS a prestigious event which I am even more proud to say that I've attend it this time around.

There were so many bloggers there, many of which I do not know. Didn't really mingle around. Shy maaaaa :p *true story*

Registered ourselves at around 7.30pm (?) and then we had to wait for quite some time before we were allowed into the ballroom. That time was well spent by meeting with the other bloggers around the area, camwhoring and all.

And then we get to take a picture with the backdrop of NAPBAS 2011 #likeasuperstar

And when we were finally allowed entrance to the ballroom, it was a bliss since my feet were hurting from the new hells lol.

Entertainment of the night includes performance from Viva Vertical who did poll dance and Burlesque; Harith Iskandar, the Malaysian comedian; Reshmonu (Sze Lynn told me that I don't have to attend our prom to see him lol); and James Baum.

And while the performances were carry out in between the award ceremony, we had food served too! Since I couldn't really see the stage from where I am sitting (Table 45 was located right to the back of the ballroom :(), the food interest me more.

And then we get to choose between three choice for the main dish: Fish, Chicken or Vegetables. The one below is the Pan-fried Dory Fillet with Spicy Peach Sauce with lasagna potatoes and garden green vegetables.

Hell noisy and smoky, not really my thing, but it was cool hanging out with friends there. Not really a place for talking / gossiping about life issues tho. lol. I club for only 30 minutes before Lynn and I left for home since we've got to get up early to head to Malacca. One of the shortest club experience huh? :P

Funny thing that happened at the entrance of Zouk:
I asked the guy at the entrance what time was it. He showed me his watch where the time read 12.57am. So I went "Aiya, 1.00am already. By the time we get in also 2.00am. How?" *looks at Charmaine and Lynn*

The guy told me "Don't worry, the club closes at 5.00am."

I told mumbled, "But my mother's club closes at 1.00am." Don't think he heard it though. hahahhahaha!

It was a fun fulfilling night / morning. I ended up sleeping for only an hour long on Saturday. Living like a dead log all day at Malacca. Coffee and sugar was my best friend to keep me awake that Saturday.

Would I still attend the next award? Of course! If I were given the chance, and if time permits - if I ever go in the auditors' line of work, I don't think time will ever permit by the look of it. lol.

Thanks to Nuffnang for extending the invitation to me! Glad to be a part of it all. It was well organised. Settings of the ballroom was awesome, performances were entertaining, food was *nyum nyum* and most importantly, the company I've had that night were all great! Kudos to the Nuffnang team that put it all together. XD

P/s. also thanks to Jayren for leading me to Putrajaya Marriott! If I were to go myself, I would have ended up in Putrajaya and not the Marriott hotel. lol

The Meme Proposal

A proposal does not necessarily be something public or exaggerated. Something with a personal touch - of memory or interest would have been simple, but touching to the heart and sweet.

The night when I read about Timothy Tiah's success proposal to Audrey, I was really happy for them (although they don't quite know me lol). Probably one of the first couple's proposal that I know of (don't even know about my cousin's o___o) since my friends are all around my age - the age where proposal or marriage has not cross our minds. So yeah, it was a happy thing.

Read their blog posts - which came in two different perspective - and was really touched by reading it. Makes me think that it's time to get a boyfriend - not that anyone wants me also :| #foreveralone

I waited to see if they'll post their proposal video and even more after having see Tim tweeted about watching it numerous time and can never get bored about it (well, I don't think you'll get bored about it if its your proposal rightttttt? =D).

And yes, they finally put it up on Vimeo not too long ago. It was the social media and web talk of the time because everyone was tweeting, repetitively sharing it over Facebook, blogging and writing articles after articles about it.

And that does not only involve Malaysians, but people around the world! Just found out that even Ryan Seacrest and Christina Perri (the singer who sang the song A Thousand Years, which was used in the meme proposal video and in Twilight's Breaking Dawn) had tweeted about the video of Tim and Audrey. Videos on Vimeo and now on Youtube have also received thousands of viewers. Really big lo. Pressure right? lol

Anyway, just want to share the video here for all your viewing. I was in tears watching it, because I've read the story behind it through their blog posts and I really felt . Although it might be like a very ordinary proposal to some, it might have meant a lot for Audrey because as she said:

"I loved that Fatty’s proposal was so … us. If it was any bigger or glamorous it would have been too much. A bit geeky but whatever ok!!!! He knows I’m a meme freak so he went to research memes and rage faces so he could put it all together. He used Philosoraptor wrong though hahaha. And that it was at a restaurant we always go to, and that most of our best friends were there made it all the better"

On another note, work has been tiring. Like seriously tiring. Start work as early as 8.30am till 5.30pm. Lost my afternoon nap privileges and all the sit-down-and-do-nothing-at-home-during-the-semester-break opportunities. That makes me think that I should really cherish all the student time that I've left - less than a year to go :'[

But work has been quite fruitful. It has shade some light on what would life be like if I were to step into this industry upon graduating = no life. Seriously. Still fun tho (for this time) since everything is new and all. Will really try to take this opportunity to learn as much as I can since it's the only time we're allowed hands-on experience in the field.

Will probably write a post about it someday, after I've cleared the other pending posts about Malacca and NAPBAS. ;)

New Header and Layout

Final examinations ended last Wednesday, but the blog have been abandoned since then. I had four days holidays before we were all out there to work our ass off, and that four days have been filled with awesomeness that I wished I could go through it all again.

Thursday I was on this super last minute shopping for #NAPBAS (which was on the next day, Friday) with Sze Lynn and Ben.

Friday was pick up dress (again, last minute!) and a very rushed preparation session at Lynn's house (Thank God she got the invitation!) and then trailed Jayren's (sorry for the super long wait! :|) car to Putrajaya Marriott for #NAPBAS. Will come to that in the next post. :)

And then, after the late night Zouk after party. My very first clubbing experience, but that experience only last for 30 minutes in the club. That has got to be the shortest clubbing experience ever. haha!

But that's with reason. The next day, as early as 5.30am, I was up and about. A whole group of us went for our maybe-last-trip-before-graduation to the historical city of Malacca. After having only an hour of sleep, I was feeling like a dead fish in the afternoon after having to last on adrenaline rush earlier in the day. And again, it will all be posted in the next next (or maybe another "next") post. =D

Sunday, it was the last minute (!) shopping preparation for my first day at work. So yeah, not much sleep again T.T

Been working since Monday. Time passes so fast. 3 days already, and 3 days worth of knowledge. Today especially, I have learned lots of stuff which made me feel overloaded. But that's fine because at least I'm learning something. So I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Will update my blog tomorrow if ever possible (lol). Christmas party and more work awaits me tomorrow. Report writing now...since I've got lots to write for today.

Food and Drink Review | Yippee Cup @ SS2

Henry invited me to Yippee Cup last Friday for a beverage and food review. And so, together with 6 other bloggers (Eric, Isaac, Henry, Choulyew, Choulyin and Benjamin) we were at Yippee Cup, SS2 at 8.30pm on a Friday night.

The environment in the cafe was a cosy one. You get to choose either to sit on the sofa-table setting or the normal table and chairs on the inside of the restaurant or if you would like to feel the cool breeze outside, there are tables and chairs set up for you too. There the take away counter facing the front of the shop for your convenience, if you're on the go.

Yippee Cup has been around for over 10 years (which is very long), and unlike the other bubble tea that you have nowadays, this can be considered as a very localised kind of bubble tea business as they are owned by Mr. Chia and his wife with only 2 branches in Klang Valley (another one just opened yesterday).

A bubble tea business as they say, but that's not all they have because you could also order some take-away packed snacks.

That above is my personal favourite, Seafood Tempura (RM6.50). With an additional touch of spices to it, it was really good. It felt like keropok lekor, only that this is softer and spring-ier. To be eaten hot and right after you purchase them to ensure that the taste and texture is still fresh from the oven. A good finger food for between meals. Got to pack this home for my family to try and it was gone within 5 minutes! I'm already craving for more of this!

Well, this is another snack that one would crave for if you're really into fried chicken. Crispy and again, it has got to be eaten hot from the pan or else, you wouldn't be able to feel its crispiness and freshness.

And of course, the bubble teas which comes in many types, some of which I have not tasted before. Names of bubble tea might be written wrongly below because I don't quite remember which is which. lol. Do tell me if there's any mistake spotted :)

I liked their Signature Pearl Milk Tea, as it tastes quite different someway, somehow. Just right to my liking. Their pearls are fresh, small and springy as well - some of the few important points that I think how pearls should taste like.

It is top with a special type of milk on the top, couldn't remember what it was, but it tasted quite salty. We even had our way of drinking it: start by having your straw on top and push it down while drinking the content. That way, you could taste the milk on the top, and chocolate on the bottom all in one go.

Ramen Caremel Milk Tea (RM5.90) which I got to take home. It was really good. Specially liked the ramen which came with it. First time having ramen as topping in my bubble tea. It tasted good. Not too weird. It was just nice.

There are assorted drinks on the menu which you could choose from. Too many that, when I look at it, I really do not know which to pick. All looked equally nice. Price are affordable and of course, if you want some more complicated drinks you obviously gotta pay for it. ;) Worth your RM though because they come in quite a big cup too even if it's regular. Definitely would be enough to satisfy your cravings and leave you wanting more.

Phobia?

First off, I would like to write something with regards to the new found phobia that I realised I am infected with: The J-phobia.

And after today's exam paper, I realised that I have that fear instilled in me whenever the exam paper of this one particular lecturer appears in front of me.

Like always, we would have already anticipate the type of exam questions or format as we were told beforehand. The thing is, the while the usual paper have a maximum of three sub-question per question (the 3 sub-questions per question were applicable to certain questions only, not all) the paper today have 4 sub-question per question and it is applicable to ALL questions in the exam sheet.

30 printed pages all together (o.o) with 5 questions in it (choose 4 questions). In total, there were 20 sub-questions and we were required to write on 16 of them.

Imagine the topic coverage of it *giddy*

It's the same lecturer that I've had for the previous subject I had last semester (a subject that I didn't do well, for the very first in my entire life). The format of the paper is therefore, the same as the previous subject.

So today, there I sat facing my fate in the freezing exam hall waiting for the clock to hit 2.00pm for the 10 minutes reading time. The moment I flip through the first two pages of the paper, I got this slight panic attack. Images about the previous semester subject, the lecturer, the questions, and results flashed through my mind within seconds.

And at that point of time, I just wanted to give up on everything and walk out of the hall. For good.

But no. Forced to breathe slowly and calm myself. Brainwashing myself with words like "You've got to do this. Die also must do. Just do it. You have 3 hours. Just calm down."

I had to remind myself that every 30 minutes because I my mood wasn't really there to do it right from the point when I faced the first question.

Sigh. Hope everything went well and will end up being well. Hope is all I have :'(

Anyhow, on with the good news. I'm officially on my semester break (!) which unfortunately only lasts for 4 days.

Four days though, will be faced with (1. Thursday) Dress and shoe shopping for #NAPBAS :D; (2. Friday) #NAPBAS and Food review); (3. Saturday) The possible Malacca trip. It became a possible now because Wan Li, the organiser just informed that there might be a change in plan. All my excitement :|; (4. Sunday) Last minute shopping preparation for my internship on Monday!

Yup, 4 days worth of holiday and yet, it doesn't look much of a resting-and-hibernating-break. But it's gonna be well used till Monday comes, the day where I start my job as a "cheap labour" haha! But I'm excited! Hope my excitement will last for 3 months and not 3 hours. Tee hee!

Food Review | Onde Onde Restaurant, Nyonya & Local Delights

Few days back, Wee Sheong and I were invited to do our very first official food review (I did once, at The Frames but that was more like a gathering than a food review, review. If you get what I mean..) at a restaurant called Onde Onde at Desa Park City Waterfront.

The concept of the shop is mainly the 'old school' decorations. Most, if not all of their decorations were bought from places like Malacca. Their wall decorations were not the only thing that caught my attention but the marble tables and wooden stool were too. Makes it look like we were not sitting in a restaurant in the middle of the city, instead somewhere in the state of Malacca or sort. In short, the decorations goes well with the whole concept of the shop - the serving of nyonya and local delights.

There, as you can see from the pictures, the store is very localised, giving you the feel of being 'home'.

Now, on with the food servings that you can get at Onde Onde. First and foremost is their Prawn Mee (RM9.90). It comes with two different type of noodles - bee hoon and the yellow noodles. The soup itself tasted somewhat salty, to which I was fine with.

Next on, we had their Penang Chee Cheong Fun (RM6.90).

It comes with a flat type of cheong fun on top of the har kou (prawn paste). I've never tried eating chee cheong fan with har kou before (I usually eat them with soy sauce). Didn't know it tasted really good with it.

We then had their signature Penang Asam Laksa (RM9.90), my favourite dish of the night. I liked it to a point that I finished the whole bowl by myself while the others moved on to the other dishes. hehe..

It comes with a visible macekerel fish, and thick laksa sauce. Certainly up to my taste buds although, I was sniffing halfway through it - it happens whenever I eat hot and/or spicy stuff. And although I don't usually eat spicy stuff, this was something that I willingly consume although I was suffering in spiciness. =D

Onde Onde also serves combo menu where you can get two different dishes together with other small side dishes in the menu if you're up to eating two type of main dish at once. The one we tried is Combo B which comes with Fried Rice and Nyonya Curry Laksa (RM15.90).

Besides, they also have their very own Home-made duck egg kaya grilled toast (RM2.80). I don't usually like kaya, but this tasted just fine although, I could not taste much of the duck egg in it (Don't think I know how it tastes either. My taste buds aren't very sharp lol). I think the reason I liked it is because the taste wasn't too strong; just a mild taste of kaya and butter.

As for drinks, we were served with two types of drinks: [Left] Japanese Cucumber Sour Plum Juice (RM5.90) and [Right] Coffee (RM2.80).

You could have visibly taste the Japanese Cucumber in the juice mixed with a mild taste of sour plum. Nothing too sour or strong which hinders the aroma of both ingredient. And as for the coffee, it was freshly brewed.

Being in a nyonya and local cuisine restaurant, naturally, they would have served an assorted kuih muih especially as their name suggests...onde onde (RM3.50)

Pulut Panggang (RM2.90)

Never tried this ever before, but after having my first taste of it, it was good. Spicy though.

Last but not least, it deserts! We had their Sago Gula Malacca (RM4.90). Their gula Malacca originated from Malacca itself so you wouldn't need to go all the way to Malacca to get a taste of it if you're carving for it at any time.

As much as I like the sago gula Malacca, it still would not beat my all time favourite cendol! This time it comes with a touch of durian it. It is none other than Onde Onde's Durian Dessert (RM7.90).

Which I liked like A LOT. I foresee myself making a revisit just for the Penang Asam Laksa and this signature cendol of theirs. The close-to-exact same taste as I've tasted in Malacca before. Been looking around for a cendol like this but I've never found one until this. And since its gula malacca comes from Malacca itself, I could just make my way there (which is very near to where I stay) and satisfy my cravings whenever I have one. heh!

Aladdin the Musical @ Sunway Lagoon Amphitheatre

A big thank you to All Malaysian Bloggers Project for the two wonderful blue zone (RM200 each) passes to Aladdin the Musical Gala Premiere night on the 25th December 2011. This would be my first ever West End Production musical show and I was pretty excited even before the show.

[Various spoilers ahead. Till the end :)]

It was a tale about a street kid called Aladdin who happen to meet Princess Jasmine one day and fell in loved with her. The Sultan, being the king did not want his daughter mixing with a mere street person, and so the evil Jaafar and the Sultan begun plotting against Aladdin.

Little did the Sultan know that Jaafar had a ulterior motive behind him. He intended Aladdin to retrieve the old lamp in the cave. Bla..bla..bla..Aladdin was trap in the cave and he called upon the Ginie who made a smokin' cool appearance - a 21st century pop / hip-hop / rock music dance one of them being non-other than Lady Gaga's song.

And oh, did I mention about the fairy from the Sultan's ring that have this really squeeky voice? And apparently, as I've heard from Choulyew, it's her actual voice. Wonder how she does it...

Found the musical quite entertaining although, it was quite rush on the second half of the show. There were life animals being used in some of the scenes - chickens and goats. At some point of the time, there were chicken on the lose on the stage and the goats did not want to move. Haha! There was no monkey though. I think it would have been very difficult to bring a monkey into play cause if it was not properly handled, there might just be a monkey running on rampant in the amphitheatre. lol

Fans of Bruno Mars? There were several songs being played on stage (e.g. Marry You and Billionaire). On how the song billionaire came about, it was seriously spot on:

Ginie: Aladdin, what do you want to be?
Aladdin: I wanna... ♫ be a billionaire.. ♫ *sings the song*

Like who wouldn't want that right? lol

From where I was sitting, couldn't really get to take a good picture because my camera lens wasn't a good one that could capture far-off pictures. So yeah, have got to make do with what I have and hence, the pictures as seen in this post. Quite far, cannot see much *potong stim*

They even made the "cave" scene where Aladdin goes into the cave to retrieve the old lamp behind the veil to make it look like there's two scene playing on one stage. Pretty cool.

Though, only one of the Aladdin song were sang throughout the whole play: A Whole New World. It was really good and enjoyable to hear the classic Disney Aladdin song being played on stage. I was actually looking forward to more of it :(

Yup, there was also the flying carpet! But the lining carrying the carpet could be seen very visibly. It's cool though to see that they have brought the carpet into play. It flew across Kuala Lumpur City Center and Sunway Lagoon. lol. Talking about promotional methods huh?

Jaafar's costume was so "kua-cheong" in black and red. His headgear is so big that it's amazing how the thing did not fall at any point of the show. Haha.

The audience that night. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah was there too for the opening gala.

Ms.Universe Malaysia 2011 was there too! So tall, so short. Two head taller than me! o__o

Since it was the opening night, they allowed the guests to have a shot or two with the casts on stage. We were up there quite late and so, these two casts were the one and only picture that I managed to get a picture with before the crew ushered them backstage.

And this is the very awesome Ginie who played his role very enthusiastically throughout the night! The dance and the moves just made me laugh whenever he comes out of the lamp.

The sound system on the first night were not that great. Couldn't hear what was being said half of the time. It was an open air stage, so naturally, sound is not confined in one area alone. The management took note on the issue after going around asking feedbacks from the audience. Heard that the sound system is way better on the later shows. A good improvement, and I'm glad that something was done to ratify the problem.

All in all, it was a good play for the exception on the seemingly 'rushed' scenes through the second half of the show. Would have also been happier if two or three more classic Disney Aladdin songs were played too.

A brief facts about Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia (SPR):

In accordance to Article 113 of the Federal Constitution, one of the functions of SPR is to register qualified citizens to ensure that they are able to choose a representative to voice out their concerns and interest in the House of Representative or Legislative Assembly of a State.
SPR carries out two type of registration: new registration and registration to change the home address and (or) voting centres.
Based on the election laws, SPR can register two types of candidates: normal candidates (those who have to be present in voting centres to vote during elections) and absent voters (those who are not able to attend due to specific reasons. They therefore, are allowed to vote through the pos).

Those who are not of age YET, you should all go and register yourself as soon as you reach the age of 21. This is your only chance to exercise your rights as a citizen of the country.

All you need to fulfil is:

To be a citizen of Malaysia;

Not being obstructed by any laws.

Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Award | Here WE Come!

It was just last week that Nuffnang sent out electronic invitations to the lucky few (hundreds) of Malaysian bloggers to attend the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards (#NAPBAS for short) which is going to be happening on the 16th December at Putrajaya Marriott, Kuala Lumpur.

And guess who got in! ME! *does the happy dance*

The first person I called was Sze Lynn, to see if she have received any emails about the invitation but unfortunately, luck wasn't on her side. No she did not receive. Was quite disappointed to know that I wouldn't be able to go with her to this award which might somehow become blogger-talk-of-the-year.

I will still very excited to be going, although then, I would have been driving myself all the way to Putrajaya myself.

I was in the library today when she called me. Strictly no speaking on the phone / make any noise in the pin-drop-silent library but yeah, I still did answer the phone only to hear her excited voice. I thought she was about to tell me "HEY! WE GOT THE HIGHEST FOR TAX ASSIGNMENT!" but no. Instead she said "I HAVE RECEIVED THE NUFFNANG AWARDS EMAIL!!" (it might seem that the news of NAPBAS invitation is more important than knowing my tax assignment marks. lol)

I was about to scream in joy, until I remembered that I was in the library [T.T]. I however, did gave a whispered squeal (!) to which I then received an eye from several unknown students sitting around me. lol

So yeah, we're both very excited to go since it'll be my first dressed-up event with Nuffnang and the other bloggers, and it is Lynn's first ever Nuffnang event. So yay to both of us!

Now we just have to find time to shop for dresses after our last paper which ends at 5.10pm on Wednesday (14th). Just a mere one day to find something to put on. Everything's will be in a rush. But most importantly, this would be a replacement to the senior year prom that I missed this year! XD

The Banana Story

Well, this is going to be a short update since I have another paper tomorrow D:

Today's Business Ethics and Social Responsibility paper went okay I think, although I did scribble a lot of repetitive bullshit in the three allocated hours. Did manage to finish the paper for the very...maybe second time in my whole examination life. Now all I can do it hope for the best.

The subject itself raises a lot of doubt in us when we studied for it. It was not because of its content but because of the stuff that we were made to remember - names of people who came up with theoretical views on ethics. Say in future when your boss asked you do do something, you won't be using the Kantian approach or the Utilitarian view to argue your point will you? Haha. The only thing when I know you'll be receiving at the end of the day if you argue with that is..

I am just ranting anyway. Know perfectly that ethics is important but because I am such an ethical person. haha. Can't even lie without laughing or cheat without feeling bad for a day. wtf lol. Anyhow, the paper ended and hope that will be the one end to it. Don't really want to look at it ever again.

Will have to look forward to the next one which is in less than 18 hours and the words "I.AM.SO.DEAD." is ringing in my head (but here I am blogging tsktsktsk).

The purpose of this post however, not entirely about exams. The purpose of this is to scribble down the weird dream I had after having to recharge my failing body engine earlier in the afternoon. And hence, it is The Banana Story....

Chester, Khin Chew, Wei Wen, Wee Sheong, Micht and Jun Lung came over to my house for a social visit. Before they went back home, they were each given two bananas. Somehow, Chester asked for three bananas and so, he received three of it. He turned back around after walking half way to his car, and return one banana to me, telling me how much I would have benefited (in monetary terms) with that one return.

I then woke up, laughing silently about the silly dream that I've had. Talking about randomness. Why banana? Don't even bother asking because really I don't know why. Everything probably came about because of the stress and tiredness. Even the monetary benefit of receiving the one banana back came into play.

Another Bloggers Gathering @ Coffee Chemistry Signature

It was thanks to Henry, that the "Another Bloggers Gathering" lunch event at Cafe Chemistry Signature, First Subang was a success (also thanks to the owners of the restaurant!).

Lunch was at 1.00pm and I reached right on time despite having to lost my way by driving around Subang twice since I've missed the turn as written in my hand-written map drawn by my classmate, Kishen. Me and my first road instinct don't always go along. lol

Anyway, we were given a set of specially fixed menu set and my very first pick was the Baked Chicken Chop with Homemade Mushroom Sauce which was up to my linking. Specially liked the mushroom sauce. *nyumnyum*

And with that RM20 specially prepared set lunch, it came with a drink of our choice, and the orange juice was my pick of the day.

In my attempt to get some nicely decorated coffee, I ordered the Single Espresso. When it came, you cannot tell how disappointed I was to not see it in those pretty design on it T_T I'm a coffee noob okayyyy...so yeah, now I know. Shall make a point to ask before confirming my order during the next visit =D

Well, at least a dose of this strong caffeine kept me awake for most of the afternoon. At the end of the day, however, I do believe that nothing can keep me awake because I was overcome with sleepiness right after I reached home o___O

I certainly had fun catching up with some of the bloggers present - some whom I've already met before and some not. All the photos snapping after our lunch and Facebook tagging later ;), and of course, exchange of knowledge - having Elwyn scare me with the job of an auditor :s

Well, this is a very backdated post, exactly two months two days late ever since the launch of Bizzy Body Fabulous 7 by Wyann International. Got invitations thanks to Jq and Li Hua.

What's worth watching?

The one main reason for this, and that is some part which really touched me to the point that I was almost in tears. Not Bella-Edward scenes, but scenes of Bella and her father. It was really sweet.

The wedding scenes were cool. I preferred the one in the dreams one tho, mainly because her dress and the wedding theme there was much to my liking. When you see it, you'll know what I mean although the dream turned out to be a nightmare.

The house at Isle Esme was sooooooooo pretty that it would have feel like paradise if I were given the chance to live in a place like this. Glass house plus really good looking furnitures. *lovelovelove*

What's not?

Awkward Scenes

One being the fact that there were too many awkward scenes. Less dialogues but more music, silent, and the you-and-I-look-at-each-other-in-the-eyes scenes. Gets really boring after getting too much of it. If it was in the book, it was totally fine because there's a narrator in the book, but on the big screen? There's no narrator to tell us, audience, what the characters are thinking.

Question Marks

Non-Twilight followers will have totally no idea what the heck the whole thing is all about. I for one, had read the books sometime ago, so I can still remember vaguely the plot of it. But if you're not a follower of the movies or books, then I would think that there are various scenes which will raise the "???" in your head.

Jokes

The jokes were really really funny (not). Let me give you a Twilight trivia 101 to highlight to you how funny it was.

Q: How do humans consume blood?A: By drinking them using a polystyrene cup with straw

And they were serious about it. Don't remember if that was in the book, but it was so funny to see that scene being played on the big screen. Well, at least I was laughing at the joke on screen instead of the joke created just by looking at the girl beside me. haha!

Censorship

To classify the show as a PG-13 screening, hence, the "breaking the bed" scenes were all cut out. Probably was a good thing too, since I think the girl sitting next to me got over excited by just looking at Bella's sexy lingeries and when Jacob went topless. Like seriously. It was funny nonetheless (I mean the girl beside me, not the scenes. roflmao)

Verdict

Do you read? If yes, just read the book. You won't think it sucks that much if you were to do so. I, for one, liked the books!

Is this watchable? It really depends, if you like the Twilight Saga's films, then you would probably like it but if you don't, then you'll see the whole thing as a joke. I mostly liked the screening background and the daughter-and-father moments, not much of the acting in other parts of the film.

*edit* Okay la, on second thought, I think the film's plot followed the book closely, so they deserve a +1 for it. Though, I still don't quite like the awkward scenes, as I call them, that were being played here and there. Part two should be better for the actions that will come with it. If you've had read the book, you would know.

P.s. (I) And oh! There's a scene of the Volturi played after the credits. Just a highlight of what's coming next I suppose.

Joke Of The Day | Quidditch on Mop

HBO was playing the Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone this afternoon. You've got to admit that the trio sounded and looked so young when the first instalment was out.

That aside, I was watching the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. It was so intense to see Slytherin play dirty and Oliver Wood just made my eyes hooked to the television. Everything was at the edge of the seat until my dad came out from the bathroom riding a mop!

All in all, I was too busy asking him to stop doing whatever he was doing because the mop was wet and it was making stuff on the table and my laptop wet. I didn't know what the heck he was doing (I thought something spilled and he wanted to clean the mess or something) until he said "I also can fly with this what."

And that's when I realised what he was doing with the mop. roflmao

Chester was quoted saying: Omigosh your dad so funny. Lol his "flying" more advanced, use mop instead of broomstick.

To that, I think the mop would be a replacement to the Firebolt and those after that. A 10 years later 'broomstick' technology advancement. Er...right.

Fun For Funds | It's for Charity

Found the cable! And hence, the pictures from Sunway University Accounting and Commerce Society's "Fun For Funds" Charity Bazaar can be uploaded. The thing that I've been busy with in the past week especially on Wednesday and Thursday.

Two days event but we started working on the decorations the night before the actual day (Tuesday). It was hard work, especially to Jia Pei, our event publicist and marketer, who did the cardboard wordings by herself (we kept the wordings for future events btw! :D).

Food ranges from your all-time-primary-school favourite lollipop and sweets, J Co donuts, cupcakes, cookies, Papa John's Pizza, garlic bread, cordial drinks, and last but not least, the highlight of both days: spaghetti.

Some of the food like spaghetti, garlic topping for garlic bread and cookies were made by our own President, Nicholas. I couldn't even cook stuff like that, and I'm a girl. lol

There were various activities as well, with one being hanna which is drawn by students.

Pretty right?

Preparation was tough, but we totally had fun doing it all especially in the process of making the garlic bread.

After standing there the whole day making garlic bread, smelling the stuff itself was enough to make me nausea. Haha..same goes to Nicholas and Martini who was in charged of the spaghetti on the second day. It was to a point that you just tell yourself "I'm going to have something else for lunch."

Proceeds of the two day bazaar will go to SIFE Sunway for their future projects which is why, it was a ACS and SIFE Sunway collaboration. A big thank you (although you probably are not going to read this) to everyone who made this event possible. Everyone who have contributed a Ringgit or more in support for the cause.

All was well, up to the end of the second day when we were supposed to clear the area. Yup, that was when I felt that I was worked like a 'cheap and free labour', having to carry and clean up the place. This is even worst than having Lynn make me work for assignments o____O *forcharityforcharityforcharity:)*

Fun For Funds | Wait For It!

It have been a very long two days. Two days of hard work as a free (it's a better word for 'cheap') labour. Makes me wonder if I ever could stand working from 8am-10pm during my internship period which starts this December. I probably could but at the end of the day, I would just reach home and knocked off immediately on my dear bed. Really. But that's a story for another time.

The highlight of this post is with regards to the...

..event that ACS had organised this week. Will update soon when I've cleared my mind of all the tiredness that I've been feeling for the past two days (especially today since 4 of us - including me - was treated like a cheap labour carrying and clearing tables, chairs, equipments and rubbish once the event ended. Thank Gods that some of them cleared the majority of the rubbish beforehand).

So yeah, will update more about the event once my mind is clear of all this stuff and once I've found the USB plug for my digital camera to transfer some of the pictures stored in the camera's memory (couldn't find it at the moment) because I've forgotten to bring the SD Card -___-

It's finally the 16th tomorrow! The Sunway University Accounting and Commerce Society is organising a charity bazaar at Energy Hub (Cafeteria) of Sunway University from 11am to 4pm for two consecutive days (16 and 17th November 2011).

The poster's so sweet right???? Thanks to our publicity manager, Jia Pei for the effort!

There'll be games, performance, fashion sale and [what's a charity without...] FOOD!! There'll be a variety of things available on that day, do come by and see what's in store for you! It's all for charity!

Ice-creams do give you wonders

Life was so stressed up earlier that this RM1.20 Solero ice-cream tastes (extra) heavenly good. Even better than usual. But it melted so fast that my happiness was short lived.

It was mid afternoon when the sudden craving of ice-cream came up. Was in the middle of full force fatigue because I slept at 4am completing my tax assignment. Was working on the very small amount of adrenaline rush that I have running in my blood stream because Lynn needed me there to find stuff for her.

Once that's done, and still no ice-cream because no one was kind enough to deliver it to my house for free (lol) I went to bed. Only after I've woken up and completed another part of the work-not-done that I've made an effort to drive out to get the ice-creams while at the same time pump petrol for tomorrow morning's journey through the traffic jam.

In the process of craving for ice-cream, I saw the Breaking Dawn screening on ChurpChurp's blog site and hence, the inspiration of blood which tastes like ice-cream at that point of time.

Although if that really comes up real, I would probably puke to no end. Just a mere metaphor to describe my cravings for ice-cream that started from noon, really. But yeah, I DO wish to go for the screening after all the stressful night and day that I've had (and more to come) for the past week.

Oh well, on a brighter note: Today marks the end of my course's assignment streak!
On a sadder note: THREE weeks left to finals, which means we've got to start studying now especially if we want to prove you-know-who wrong.

P.s.: Read Timothy Tiah's Feeding the Homeless On A Saturday Night which I find really inspiring. Shared it with my group of friends and we'll volunteer ourselves for the cause one day. Maybe sometime soon? Who knows. :)

Starbucks Card Launch @ The Curve

It's 11.11.11! And two blog posts because my day seems to have turned out to be a very happening day!

After replacement class which ends at 4.30pm, Joanne, Sze Lynn and I decided to head over to The Curve's Starbucks for the launch of Starbucks card - and at the same time to line up for the first 100 to get the card. And so we went, stuck in traffic jam but managed to get there by 5.15pm by using the inside roads to skip the heavy traffic along LDP.

That's what we did after having to stand in line for one hour - camwhore with the HTC ChaCha - simply because we had nothing better to do. :P

A very long line with soooo many people, but yeah, we managed to be in the top 100 - #80 ++++

They even had the Shiny Green Man out for a pose and publicity. It takes a lot of determination and concentration to stand as still as they did. I couldn't even be still for 5 minutes long!

Once we've gotten the cards, we went over for a photo shot where the winner will stand a chance to win some Starbucks merchandise and RM500 card preload. We did not even get into the top 7 even with our pre-planning while standing in line and the super awesome pose we did.

Yup, we had FOUR scenes to our plan. It's how we planned to pose for the picture. Haha! We were so free that we've decided to do stuff like that! roflmao

After all that card and picture hassle, we were served with food. It was like a mad house in there. Like when you see a clothing store with 90% sale store wide (if that ever happens), what's more: this is free food!

Being a Malaysian, we did this:

We took food portion to fill four people's stomach, but we ended up suffering through it. Good food though. Met Simon there too! :)

So, the card is now available for sale with RM20 payment for the reload and card. As I know, they have the Christmas edition card which looks way better than the green one that I've gotten (but I don't think the green one is ugly. It looks nice to righttt?).

An eventful day. First time standing in line for such a deal and it happened on 11.11.11 :)

Looking for actions and gory scenes? Then you're in it for this movie. You're promised with many scenes involving slow-motion blood spilling and flash disintegration. Had to even cover my eyes (and ears lol) at some point of the movie because of the extensive violence which I could not stand to watch.

The fights gets you at the edge of your seat because the good guys did not made a 100% win in the end. It was a hard earned victory - I wouldn't call it victory for the lack of words. It should have probably be the sacrifice-for-the-greater-good-victory. Zeus ended the whole thing by bringing down the inside of the cave where the Titans were kept hidden to end the war and to bury the Titans.

The Bad

Question 1: Gods can die when they are called immortals?

Because in the movie, Gods like Athena and Poseidon was actually stabbed to death by the Titans. Don't really know about the Greek history, but I don't think they can die rightttt? If they were to die, then who will rule the sea, for example? It just doesn't make sense.

Question 2: Why didn't the Gods use their power?

All they did was fight using weapons such as swords and in the case of Poseidon, his fork thingy. I think they would have been so much more powerful than the Titans who looked like a bunch of unintelligent hooligans (were they even supposed to be so?).

History, the tale

It wasn't really clear about how everything come about, didn't quite understand why this and that at certain parts. I think the main focus of the whole movie was the fights and actions scenes. Understood some part of the story mainly because I've read the Percy Jackson series (that's where I've gotten some basic knowledge about Greek methodology). Without reading Percy Jackson, I think I would further dwell in the state of confusion throughout the movie.

Censorship
The censorship board have cut out certain 18-sx scenes. Causing everyone in the cinema to groan in dissatisfaction. The scene jumped from the Oracle and Theseus romantic interaction (she lost her virginity - which also meant that she lost her six-sense-foresight in the middle of war, a sense which is quite important) to a scene of the other people who were with them at Theseus' home village. Potong stim.

Verdict

Will not be a "must watch" show but you could watch it if you enjoy fighting and gory scenes. Easily forgettable movie for the plot was not strong enough to leave an impression in the viewers' mind.

I have been with Nuffnang since 2008 and still counting (haha. I just realised that I've been with them for 3 years!). Don't quite remember who influenced me to sign up with Nuffnang (it was probably Chester Chin's influence).

As I clearly remember, my reason for joining Nuffnang was to check on my daily/weekly/monthly blog hits. Not knowing about the additional cash that it allows bloggers to earn, events and screenings that we comes with it, and the opportunity to meet other people within the social media community.

My very first event with Nuffnang, if not mistaken, was District 9 screening in August 2009.

Some of the invites which I still have. Realised that the others are not to be found at the moment. It's high time that I find them for safekeeping :0

And later, I have joined various other movie screenings whenever I can make it and if I were given the chance to win them. i.e. Prince of Persia, Sherlock Holmes, Avatar, A Christmas Carol 3D, New Moon and many others.

Aside from the movie screenings, 2011 marks the first time ever that I've won in a contest as big as the Astro B.yond PVR contest, a one-year free subscription. Happy news, because I've never been so lucky to win anything this big before. First time and it was one of the best 21st birthday gift ever! ♥

Along with the opportunities given by Nuffnang to attend events, I've met many new people from the blog-sphere. Something which you don't get to do everyday.

It's all about getting to know new people, expanding my network and I'm really happy to have been given the chance to do so. All thanks to Nuffnang for such opportunity!

I have not attended much events because I don't usually go for dress-up events / clubbing / drinking / any events in the heart of Kuala Lumpur mainly because it's not really my thing although I would love to attend some of it, some day, and most of the time I'm really not up to driving in the heavy KL traffic or sit the train (KTM in my case, and I guess you can pretty much guess why).

Well, that's not exactly the end of the story because, there are more to come! And I could really kick off by attending Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011 (#napbas) which is happening:

Technology | The HTC ChaCha

Yup! So you've heard that I've recently (yesterday to be exact) changed my cellphone number which have accompanied me for at least 10 years long. It was quite hard to part with it, as it was really a number that I like. How often can you tell someone your number was 012-911xxxx? Lame, but the point is, I liked the number okay? :(

Anyhow, the reason I have gotten myself a new number was solely because I was FORCED to if I were to get this new phone:

HTC ChaCha!

It came with a really good deal by Maxis @ 1Utama. Phone comes in FREE (!!) with one value plan plus data plan (RM18 for 100Mbps). Though, the deal is only available at selected outlet (don't know where else, but I know it's really 'hot' sale at 1Utama and for a limited time only).

The advertisement have been shoved into my face for quite sometime whenever I stopped by the said outlet to pay my monthly bill, but never did I once stop and think "Oh! Maybe I should ask them what is it about." No. I did not until yesterday (6th Nov) that my mum asked me, "do you want to ask about it?" Since I had all the time in the world (just keep tax assignment to the side for the moment), I went ahead and ask.

Another customer was there seated while waiting for his transaction to complete (he was buying the ChaCha as well) and so our conversation with regards to the phone started. Influenced, signed, sealed and delivered.

The very first phone purchase at random. I usually take 6 months to consider (haha!) before I drop the issue completely (lol).

The whole deal is great except for the fact that I have to change my phone number (only prepaid users get to keep their number) :( Tried my best to ask the sales person whether or not I could keep the number but take up the deal. His answer was no even if I had asked him for about 5 times. Really sad, but the salesman was good enough to find for me a similar number. Well, almost similar..

Well, about the ChaCha, it is a sleek phone, quite thin although it's quite wide upfront.

Comes with a 5.0MP camera which is way better than my previous phone, so despite the change in number, I'm quite happy with this. Because it really means more good pictures on the phone! Well, there's a front camera for 3G as well, but its whole function is not only for 3G because it has a "Mirror" and "Self-portrait" feature. Which also means that it supports camwhore photos! :P :P

Been using it for a day, abused the internet freedom, WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter applications all morning and noon that the battery life only lasted roughly about half a day. I think I used too much (lol) and I've seen in the guide book that leaving your Wifi and internet feature on all day would drain your battery life - the reason why, I think, that my battery did not last long.

Like touch screen PLUS QWERT keypad? Then this phone have it all because it actually has both features. Totally cool because I do like touch screen phone. Takes sometime to adapt to the QWERT keypad, but it's all good. The one thing that I like about the keypad is that it has spaces between the letters so the possibility of my finger to cross over to the other letters are less (I think that's why make the phone wider? Wider but I still like the positioning of the keypads :D).

Not going to write more about the phone. I am very satisfied with it so far although I am still confuse about where things are placed (saved contacts but couldn't find them because I don't know where I saved it haha!). Makes me realised that Nokia phones are so much simpler! It'll really take time to learn and get use to it all.

On another note, for my future referral, this is my cell phone history in a systematic progressive phase (a term that I just created): Nokia 2100; Sony Ericsson K750i; Nokia XpressMusic 5530; and now, the HTC ChaCha.

Did the phone size just get WIDER and THINNER over time or is it just me? lol

This would be my first HTC experience, first usage of Android platform, first time on QWERT and touch screen (both at the same time) phone. Really sweet, but I still miss my old number o___o

Nuffnang and ChurpChurp teatime with #ChatimePublika

The first ever combined event between Churp Churp and Nuffnang, and I'm glad to be apart of it all! It was a gathering at Chatime Publika at 3.00pm. Upon reaching, we each were given two RM10 booklets of cash voucher which we can be spent on any food at the Food Village (the food court there) or Chatime.

So, first thing first, buy drink! And so we went lining in the queue for our drinks.

Again, ordered one of the usual: Roasted Milk Tea with pearl (not in picture). This time tho, I've gotten myself a large one for the very first time, since I've lots of vouchers to utilise. :p

Then Anne of Nuffnang started the ice-breaking session where she went over to some of the guests around asking for their name, and what they like about Chatime.

Henry happened to be one of the lucky one besides Joshua, Benjamin and Choulyew, among several others.

After that all together with a short speech from the representative of Publika and owner of Chatime Publika, we started our game of "Guess the drink" where we were split into groups of 4 and were supposed to guess the names of Chatime drinks.

Our group (Richard, Choulyew, Choulyin and I) name happened to Richie (lol). It was fun guessing, but we don't quite know each and every drink because each of us usually have our own personal favourite, the one and only drink we'll order whenever we make a visit to Chatime.

So yeah, naturally, we guessed wrongly here and there, and did not ended up being the winner although it was good to know that we got it right somewhere just that we filled in in the wrong column. lol.

Assignment | Close call

It's the first time ever, finishing an assignment 4 days before the deadline and yet we managed to kill ourselves in sheer panic by submitting it into turnitin at 11.58pm (deadline for turnitin was at 11.59pm).

We took 4 days to edit and re-edit the whole assignment: cutting down words from 7000 to 3500, you don't even want to know how we managed the impossibles.

Thursday afternoon, we each had our leisure sleep and rest because we thought we had all the time in the world. That's really not before, small mistakes were spotted at 11.30pm! Really "kan cheong" max. Not only mistakes were spotted, but my group member's (Lynn) internet decided to fail on her at 11.45pm when she have not sent the amended file to me.

She had to dictate to me the amendments on the phone at 11.50pm. For real.

She talked so fast for fear that we won't make it in time, but it was too fast for me to type it all down. My hands were also shaking and mind really blank at that time.

When all was done, I was practically begging for my internet to go faster. Almost fainted when I realised that TurnItIn have got 3 steps before your paper is submitted into the system.

That's not the end of it. We did it again, during the submission of the hard copy because again, mistakes were spotted in the appendix. And this was AFTER Joanne and I decided to scare Lynn by telling her that we have not get it printed at 11pm (submission was at 12pm). We had to do the running around university to get the new copy found (we couldn't find the original excel file T.T), print, bind and submit.

All I can say was, plan backfired o___O

To think that the night before, we were

to have our marks cut for the late submission and this morning crisis, almost cause all of us our hearts.

This should not happen again. Seriously (T.T)

Galactic Laser | Halloween Special

The last time we've had our fair share of laser tag game was back in July/August. Time past really fast, now that it's October already, Sergius invited us to another event at Galactic Laser, Mid Valley last Friday (28th October).

Theme: Galactic Laser Halloween Special

Events of the night includes buffet dinner, karaoke, stage games and performance, and most importantly: LASER TAG!

Dinner served include spaghetti, noodles, rice, fried rice, soup, sandwich, finger food and various others which I cannot remember. And with it, comes the special green drink.

Very Halloween-ish. We think it's kiwi drink. Right?

The hallway where songs and games were played, performances were performed on the small stage, and where we waited for our turn to be called for some game of laser tag :D

There was the "murderer", "victim" and "detective" game where murderer have got to go around blinking their eyes to kill their victims. I happen to be the murder, blinked at so many people but they didn't seem to get my message. lol. The one time a boy got my message, he looked at me and said "Ahhh..I died.". So cute. lol

Then all time Halloween game where they mummified-you-by-wraping-you-in-tissue-paper.

The one thing about Halloween (to me it's like the worst thing ever) is the characters that comes with it. Decorations like this was not so bad...

But when it comes to this:

It sucks big time.

Masked ghosts which I hate so much. The moment I see them, my legs immediately felt weak. Like really really really weak. Heart pumping like I've run miles. Tried to act normal to attract attention and at the same time tried to shrink myself in my seat. Seriously.

Decided to "camp" in the laser tag arena, just so I don't come across any of them. Not only camp, I was quietly praying that they don't come to my hiding place the whole time.

Didn't get lucky on the second time because the white one above came in front of me to shoot me. My feet were glued to the ground, and if you have had microscopic hearing, you would have heard my heart beating like mad. After shooting him down, I was practically begging for him to go. Like "Go away pleaseeeeee." But no, he did not leave until he gave me the thumbs up. *dislike*

At the end of the day, after all the laser tag games that had us sweating to no end, the dance floor was opened

Great night. Thanks to Sergius and the owner(s) of Galactic Laser for inviting us to the Halloween night. We all had so much fun!

Monday Blues

Upon being told about the replacement class on Monday afternoon on Sunday, I instantly knew that Monday would be a total disaster. And, heck! I was damn right about it.

Business Ethics assignment is due on Tuesday (today) and we just realised that there were quite a number of amendments to be made to our work. Planned to do it all on Monday afternoon since class ends at 12.30, so we had a lot of time to spare.

Things came up: replacement class 3pm to 5pm. Attended, so to feel better about it myself.

All in good faith, I have got to be repaid by getting caught under the rain when I desperately need to get home. What did I do? Ran to my car under the heavy downpour! Thank God that traffic was smooth although it was already 5pm at that time. Or not it's FML x10 :|

Feeling so exhausted and sleepy that day, but no. I couldn't sleep because work was not done yet. By the time I was able to get to bed at 3.30am on Tuesday, I was running on adrenaline rush so sleep came late. I was in semi-conscious for 30 to 45 minutes (if not mistaken, but it felt quite long) and when I was close to really sleeping, my sister's alarm clock have got to ring.

She woke up, switch on the room lights and studied while I was still struggling to really fall asleep. Mosquito was flying around in the room, biting me everywhere. Had to cover myself with my blanket from head to toe in the only-fan-is-on room. I was sweating, making sleep very uneasy. And as if things couldn't get any better, I have a growling stomach at four in the morning.

6.30am was the time to wake-up to get to class in time.

Really. FML.

Tetris Battle

In the mist of rushing for assignments in what we call this mid-semester break, I've been severely distracted by something. Something none other than...

That and I've now got unlimited energy for 24 hours. Guess what does that implies?

I'm doomed.

My Happiest Moment

I was asked post up a photo and describe why it is one of my happiest moments. The first thing that I have in mind was the first ever trip that my school friends and I had in early 2010.

We've known each other since secondary one, although we were not quite close then. This is the first ever self-planned trip of our own, a trip outside the city of Kuala Lumpur and it took two-years to plan it all (or you could call it a 2-years delayed trip ;)).

2-years planning (delay), 2-days trip, 48 hours full of memories. Memories which we could still talk it over our weekly late night supper and still have a laugh about it all.

We took 4 hours to get to Malacca because we were lost in Kuala Lumpur for over 2 hours. lol
We did silly things (i.e. imitate the pose of the figurines) in the museum not knowing that there is actually CCTV hidden somewhere filming our every act. We've got a great big laugh upon finding that out!
We ate 4 cendols within less than 48 hours!
Took 749 pictures within less than 48 hours!
We got lost on the way back to Kuala Lumpur.
We got lost in Kuala Lumpur, Klang to be exact, when we got back to KL in our search for Klang Bak Kut Teh.

It was like a never ending trip of "Lost". But it was fun although we got quite frustrated after a while. Memorable yes, no doubt. Again? In the process of planning. It'll be another 2 years before anything is properly planned again, because of time and transportation. *waiting patiently*

As they say, friends you've made from school are the one that will last you for a life time. They are the people who turn out to be your 'best friends', true friends. I guess it's pretty true because that's what they truly are and I hope to have more of this "moments" with them in the future, for a life time.

A picture says a thousand words. I've begun taking and saving pictures ever since I was in high school but an unfortunate incident happened to my desktop few years back causing all pictures to be wiped out. Learned my lesson then, and now I constantly keep my backup files updated. Although past picture-memories were wiped out, but what remains in my memory will never be forgotten and what the future brings to us will always be kept.

With that being said, photography is indeed a happy thing. A way to gather evidence of happy moments be it with friends, family or enemies - so to say. 10 years down the road, when you look back at whatever you've taken before, it'll put a smile on your face simply because it brings back memories.

Happy or sad does not matter much then because what matters is that you know you've been through it, and it is what shaped you, your life.

The Plot
It was well written because it got me engaged to it throughout the 2 hours show time. The start of the show where it explains how bad Charlie is as a father, how he is as a person and how he lived his life off before his son came into the picture. The story build up within the 2 hours was well enough, wasn't going in a fast / slow / sudden pace. Just nice for us audience to get connected to the story line.

There are several robot fights which I knew he (Charlie) would lose, but nevertheless you know why he loses: he rushes through things, which I think again, it is a lesson for us all to learn - Never rush into something without thinking ahead and practicing first.

Father-Son Bonding
This is the most touching part because tears actually formed when some scenes was being played on the screen. Don't know if I was just soft or their acting was just good that they really brought that emotions out on set. Maybe its the latter. :)

I guess, this is where everyone would be awake, paying attention to what's going on on screen. The matter of interest for the majority. So, the fights were awesome. It wasn't like it's like a one-hit-k.o. fight which was good because it kept me in the edge at all time although I have already know whether Atom will lose or win a fight - Win too early, no movie. So of course must win towards the end right? ;)

Anyhow, it was a brilliant final match between Atom (Max's robot who dances!) and Zeus (the Champs). Atom were bluntly being abused with punches and kicks on stage but he still stood strong till the end. It was funny to see people who bet to not see him after Round 1 was being round up by the tai-yi-longs (Loan Sharks). When Atom got punched, I was really screaming in my head "Punch back! Punch back! Avoid! Turn around! Shield! Get up! Get up!"

Yeah...right. So moving on.. It was a really an underdog fight against the mighty one, if you would call Zeus that. Practice, get connected with the matter at hand and put your heart in it, is what I see from the whole thing.

CGI effects
Could feel that I was really in the arena of robot boxing, cheering together with the crowd although in fact, I was seated in the cinemas. I wanted to clap and cheer along whenever Atom fist made contact with his opponent but got to remind myself that I'm in the cinema. lol

All in all, the movie was really good. It is now listed in my list of movie of the year! Highly recommended.

Ratings: 4.5/5 (nothing is perfect isn't it? :P)
